Dealing with bereavement

Last week, the Activities Coordinator at our Alexandra Care Home with Nursing, Ian, went to a local funeral director's coffee morning for bereaved families.

Two of our former residents' partners were there (Phillip and Alan) and Ian gave a little talk on how our relationships with families doesn't end when a family member passes. Sometimes they need to maintain that connection with their loved one via our care home to help with the grieving process. All Bayswood Care Group homes actively encourage this active connection to the recent memories and lives of their loved ones to help deal with bereavement.

Sam and Claire from JT Byrne's Funeral Directors were also there with teas, coffee and cake and very kindly donated a couple of bottles of fizz for the forthcoming Alexandra Summer Fair raffle.

The loss of a loved one is a very difficult subject and if anyone reading this has lost a loved one who spent time in one of our homes, we’d be happy to talk to you about them and share stories of their recent history with us.
