Update on Alexandra’s Staff Training

NEWS FROM THE TRAINING TEAM

Over the last fortnight staff at the Alexandra have been very busy training.

In the last full week of May, eight mandatory training courses were delivered including Dementia Awareness, Equality and Diversity and Moving and Positioning.

The aim of mandatory training is to ensure that staff have the core skills and knowledge to understand and carry out their job role and in addition to this, new staff had the opportunity to meet and work alongside experienced staff. They also meet Kerry, the Registered Manager.

This week several staff have completed their Level 1 NAPPI Training, which is a Positive Behaviour Support course, while others have participated in sessions on Dignity in Care, Diabetes Awareness and Epilepsy Awareness.

Finally, Sinead Hosier one of our staff at the Brooklands Unit has just completed her L3 Diploma in Care.  This is a huge achievement and congratulations to Sinead on the hard work that she has put in over the past few months.

Group Trainer, Sarah thanks all staff for their attendance and participation in the training, saying, 'It was an absolute pleasure to work with all the staff, both new and experienced.  The values that they showed and the ideas that they contributed were great – and all are an absolute asset to the Alexandra Care Home with Nursing.'

Training is integral to the Bayswood Group’s DNA, which is why the company invests heavily on in-house trainers and facilities. Look out for more information on training over the coming weeks.
