PARK VIEW TRIP TO MECCA BINGO, BLACKPOOL

Yesterday we took four residents on our first visit to Mecca Bingo. We all joined up as members received a full bingo book, a welcome drink and supper of chicken burgers or toasties. A good start, we all agreed!

For the bargain price for a tenner, Jade (our floor manager) worked her charm on the Mecca management to get this great deal, although we suspect she is a known face there, so it did not take too much hahahaha.

There was also the added bonus of it being Pride Week in Blackpool, so we had singers and drag queens entertaining us – all included in the Β£10 price.

To the main event – we had nearly three hours of bingo fun.  Some did it manually by book and a dabber. Activities Coordinator Ashley was new to bingo and said, β€œWow – you have to be on the mark and quick!” as he found himself getting behind.

Irene and Lydia were much more efficient at using the dabber, while Harvey and Derek used tablets that automatically checked off the numbers for you, so were much more relaxed!

After a great experience and fun evening only Jade won and her husband won – maybe the start of a professional bingo career? πŸ˜€ Lydia thought she had won and after shouting so loudly and excitedly, we think they heard her in Mecca Bingo Leeds. Unfortunately, she soon realised she had made a mistake and was apologetic, but still allowed to carry on hahaha.

Well, it was a successful test run and we’re sure more residents will be joining up as members and maybe, just maybe, we may get a visit from Mecca to the home – if Jade can work her magic again!

Dabbers at the ready for the next time and a massive thank you to Jade and her husband (Andrew) as well as AJ, who works weekends, but volunteered to go as well, and to Ashley for adding another great outing to the ever growing list of activities.
