Dane View has five-star Food Hygiene Rating renewed

Bayswood Care Homes is proud to announce that Leicester Council has renewed its Dane View Care Home’s five-star food hygiene rating.

A tremendous amount of hard work goes on behind the scenes to produce a nutritious and varied menu, cooked by our in-house chefs in a clean and safe environment. Exemplary hygiene is at the heart of the kitchen and the five-star certificate reflects that fact.

Well done to Dane View’s head chef, Eleni, and cooking assistant, Julie, who are the A-Team in Dane View responsible for this accolade.

Eleni says, ‘I like to think our nutritious and interesting menu is top restaurant standard! We strive hard to rotate the menus regularly, so there is always something new and special on offer every week.’

The kitchen at Dane View (Leicester) opens into the dining room, as it does at Park View (South Shore, Blackpool). The tantalizing aromas of freshly cooked food permeate the dining room from the serving hatch. This is a deliberate policy. Bayswood Care Group Director, Amarveer, explains, ‘Residents can smell food cooking as they enter the dining rooms. That is an ideal model, because it prompts a sense of hunger. We often see new residents coming into the home, who may have struggled with eating, suddenly regain their appetites. As we know, regular nourishment is vital for our well-being.’

By popular demand, one classic dish never moves off the menu. Tomorrow is “Fish’n’chips Friday.” We all look forward to that!
